Our Program
We are not considered a Homeschool Co-op accountability group. So you will still need to be registered with an accountability group in South Carolina and follow their requirements. Our program is an additional program for homeschool students. We do send home the work that was done in our program by your child that you can save in your files for the South Carolina requirements. We also follow age appropriate guidelines for the curriculum.
In addition, we provide classes for both homeschooled and not homeschooled students.
Owner/Director
My name is Patricia Badgett. I am the owner/director of Pencil & Dirt Homeschool/Piano Classes/Reading. My family and I moved to the Upstate in 2018 and we love it! I am a wife and mother of 3 amazing children. I have been homeschooling my children for the last few years. I love being able to teach my children both academically and musically. I realized quickly that a homeschool drop off program in the Fountain Inn/ Simpsonville area was much needed. I also saw the need in the creative/musical areas. With my background as an educator and piano teacher I realized I could fulfill that need in the area and continue with my passion of teaching. I have a background in elementary education. I have also been a children's piano teacher for the past 15 years. I also ran an at home daycare in my home in Simpsonville. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of your child's education!
Mission & Approach
We believe each child has their own strengths and interests. We want to build on your child's strengths, interests, and creativity. Each child should be treated as an individual and express their interests. Besides standard subjects we also promote nature, art, and play for our students.
